That's right, Custom Field Grouping has finally arrived! It's been on our wishlist for months, and when we started building the new Assets module - which can be used for tracking literally hundreds of details about your client's hardware, software, websites and other assets - what was once considered a handy feature became a necessity.

It also makes a big difference if you're using the Jobs/Projects module and have lots of custom fields:

proj groupsGroupings allow you to create a logical flow of information when looking at the Details tab. Handy collapse/expand functionality (by clicking on the group title) also helps you focus on just the details you need. Any ungrouped fields will continue to appear at the bottom of the Details tab.

Cool, how do I configure these groups?

Groupings are configured per object type. E.g. if you have 3 types of Projects configured, select the type you wish to modify from the left-hand admin navigation, and then click the Custom Fields tab. You'll find a new button for creating a Custom Group:

This opens a pop-up where you can enter a title for the field group, and drag un-grouped fields into the new group:

If it's actually your Sales, Retainers or Tickets which have loads of custom fields.. the answer is Soon! - We are going to add field groupings to those view screens as part of the upcoming Accelo redesign!
